Investigate along the route until you arrive at Daan Village (达安村). Defeat the dog in the courtyard, then meet the village chief Zheng Zongxian.

After leaving, return at night and sneak onto the rooftop to eavesdrop on a conversation.

Covertly follow Zheng Zongxian. Use remote‑take (“telekinesis / remote pick‑up”) to steal the ancestral hall key from him.

Enter the ancestral hall and inspect the spirit tablets — this triggers a flashback to events from 12 years prior.

In the flashback, you save the young boy 沈义伦 (Shen Yilun). This is the same Shen Yilun we previously saw in Fanlou (one of the three who sought the “Treasure Basin”). You will meet him again later.

You can also roam around to rescue others — defeat the thug 贺岳峙, and there’s another person to save down in a well.

Finally, go to the primary residence, defeat the gang’s leader, 沈义仁 (Shen Yiren), and rescue another young boy, 郑鄂 (Zheng E). You will reencounter him later in a future quest.
