According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, who posted on the X platform two days ago, the realme 16 Pro series is expected to be announced in India on January 6, 2026, with both Pro and Pro+ versions likely to be released.
According to a report from tech media GizChina, the realme 16 Pro+ model is expected to offer a significant upgrade in imaging, featuring a periscope-style telephoto lens. This design is expected to deliver higher-quality optical zoom without increasing the overall thickness of the phone, making long-distance photography easier.
In terms of specifications, the series is said to include a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, a massive 7000mAh battery, and a 200-megapixel primary camera, a notable improvement over the 50MP primary sensor on the realme 15 Pro.
The insider also mentioned that the realme 16 Pro base configuration could start with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. At the same time, the Pro+ version may offer higher memory and storage options along with new color choices such as gray, gold, and purple.
Earlier reports cited by modezone.com state that a new realme device with the model number RMX5121 has passed China’s MIIT certification. With a body thickness of 7.75 mm and a weight of 192 g, this device has a rated battery capacity of 6830 mAh, which can be marketed as 7000 mAh, and is believed to be the realme 16 Pro.
