Players have criticised SEGA for not offering an upgrade option to the Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, noting that the update content was minimal and also raising concerns about an unspecified DRM protection system.

Apparently, the Japanese publisher has taken player feedback into account and adjusted its policy accordingly.

Today, SEGA announced that players can now upgrade Yakuza 0 to the Director’s Cut for $15.

For fans of the series, this is quite a generous offer: upgraded versions of Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 will all be available at discounted upgrade prices for owners of the original titles.

Additionally, the game’s Steam page no longer mentions the use of DRM protection—suggesting that SEGA may have originally planned to implement Denuvo as an anti-piracy measure, but ultimately abandoned the plan, since the original games have long been available online without DRM.
