What You Earn
Boss Badges: Each time you kill a boss in Legendary mode, you will earn a badge for that boss. Players can display these badges on their player profile to showcase the number of times they have defeated each specific boss.
Visual Prestige Markers: Your HP bar gets a distinctive red glow, and a number appears beside it to show how many major bosses you've taken down without ever dropping below Legend.
Profile Recognition: Defeating bosses grants unique identifiers, badges, and cosmetic rewards. These serve as permanent proof of your skill and dedication within the community.
What You Don't Get
No Better Loot Legend difficulty is often misunderstood as a "better loot" mode. It isn't. Bosses drop the same gear and materials on all problems. You don't get more potent weapons, more currency, or increased drop rates for playing on Legend.
No Progression Advantage: Difficulty does not affect loot or XP in Where Winds Meet. The significant differences are challenge level, assist prompts, and cosmetic prestige from Legend, not raw rewards.
No Trophy/Achievement Requirements: As of the game's release, there are no trophies tied to the player's chosen difficulty. Players can still progress towards the Platinum trophy without changing challenges.
Important Caveats
These rewards are tied to killing the boss while the character is still on Legend. If you lower difficulty before a fight, that kill doesn't contribute to your Legend count.
Once you move out of Legend difficulty, you cannot go back to Legend on this character, which means no more Legend-only badges for future bosses.
Bottom Line
Legend difficulty rewards are purely cosmetic and prestige-based—badges, a unique HP bar appearance, and visible boss kill counts. As one player put it after earning 11 badges: "This is really, really disappointing. I was hoping to get something useful. Not some dumb badges..."
If you're playing for bragging rights and the Soulslike challenge, Legend delivers. If you're hoping for better gear or faster progression, you won't find it here.
