“Fragment” Side Quest — Blossoms’ Shadow Spycraft (繁花谍影) — English Version
At Zuihuayin, you learn from a Jiuliu Sect disciple that their goal is to reclaim Aunt Han’s Faceless Ones roster. Xue Chou has already had you steal a mechanism box from the Khitans; now you must seize the Yin-script Codex from the Southern Tang envoy—the book used to translate the roster. (Earlier, beneath the Qinghe “Living Doctors’ Clinic,” you saw the Faceless Ones who failed to change faces. Those who succeeded have already been sent to Khitan lands as spies—so it seems the Southern Tang’s raid on the newbie village resulted in the roster being taken.)
Disguise yourself as a musician to get inside. Based on the ancient pentatonic notes hummed by Lady Bairong, strike the five corresponding drums.
After entering Fanlou, review the clues—you’ll learn there are seven locations you need to investigate. Beyond that, it’s recommended you listen to everyone’s dialogue in the building; it’s genuinely entertaining.
Fanlou Investigations (7 points)
First Floor
- Check the stage/performers roster, then talk to Liu Rui nearby.
- Compete with Hua Jieyu in pitch-pot (Touhu)
- Talk to Ling Yuming, who is playing the pipa.
- At the painter’s area, you can speak to Xu Geling to watch “Flying Apsaras Dancing Together” again.
Second Floor
5. While Fu Rong is distracted chatting, steal the gift list from him.
6. In a private room, talk to the drunk Jia Wenqu. The “Young Master Nanzhu” he mentions is clearly Li Yu.
Third Floor
7. You can see Lady Bairong again up here. Talk to Wen Zixuan, and also chat with the fangirls/fanboys.
A disturbance breaks out in a third-floor private room, so you can’t approach directly. Exit through a side door to the outside—there’s a route that lets you loop around into the private room. Once inside, investigate the clues and make your deduction.
Final Step
Leave Fanlou and head north to Yunhua Tower (Yunhualou). Defeat the Jiangnan envoy upstairs, obtain the Yin-script Codex, and burn it.
Finally, Qin Ruolan takes you to watch the fireworks—enjoy the moment.
