Samsung is expected to officially launch its first tri-folding smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, on December 5. Recent leaks have revealed several key specifications, including a huge display, a 200-megapixel primary camera, and a flagship-level processor.
According to renowned leaker Evan Blass, the upcoming tri-fold device will be named Galaxy Z TriFold. The device is reportedly equipped with a 6.5-inch cover display featuring a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, allowing it to function like a regular smartphone without needing to be unfolded. When unfolded, it features a 10-inch interior screen with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.
Due to the complex tri-fold structure, the device’s body thickness is not uniform. It’s reported that the three folding segments have thicknesses of roughly 3.9 mm, 4.0 mm, and 4.2 mm, respectively; however, it is unclear how these thicknesses correspond to the segments. When fully folded, the total device thickness is approximately 14 mm.
In terms of imaging, the Galaxy Z TriFold is said to feature Samsung’s most powerful camera setup yet: a 200-megapixel primary sensor, likely shared with the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 7, which should dramatically enhance detail capture and low-light performance. For battery and charging, the device reportedly has a rated capacity of 5,437 mAh (typically expected to be ~5,600 mAh) and supports 45 W wired fast charging.
Processor-wise, Evan Blass confirms that the Galaxy Z TriFold will carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Given its positioning and release timing, the chip is very likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite — the same used in the S25 Ultra and Z Fold 7. While the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 already exists, it seems unlikely this device will adopt it.
Finally, the leak suggests that the initial price will be around US $3,000 (≈ approximately ¥21,344 RMB at the current exchange rate). The device is expected to go on sale from December 5, initially in limited markets such as Korea and China, before a broader global rollout.
