Developed by NCSOFT in collaboration with Guerrilla Games (developers of the Horizon Zero Dawn series), this game is a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

It was officially announced at G-STAR 2025 on November 13, 2025.

Game Setting and Features

The game is set in a new region called "Deadlands."

This title incorporates the iconic "hunting mechanical beasts" gameplay of the Horizon Zero Dawn series into an MMORPG. Players will battle enormous mechanical behemoths, with an emphasis on exploration and large-scale combat.

The character customization system is very in-depth: players can fine-tune their face, body shape, hairstyle, makeup, and more, and share their creations with other players.

Movement and exploration capabilities have been enhanced; for example, players can use a grappling hook to traverse different parts of the map quickly.

Mechanical beasts are rideable, or at least allow for deep interaction: different types of mechanical beasts can be tamed as mounts.

The combat system employs a "destroy parts" mechanic: you can destroy specific parts of a mechanical beast, then use a grappling hook to approach and chase it quickly, or place traps on damaged parts to apply status effects. Defeated mechanical beasts may drop weapons; you can equip these weapons to your mount and use them in subsequent battles.

In large-scale raid-style boss battles, cooperation and strategy are crucial. Different players or tribes play distinct roles, working together to execute tactics and defeat the colossal mechanical beasts.

Platform/Release Information

The game supports PC and mobile platforms and runs on NCSOFT's PURPLE platform.

A release date has not yet been announced, and as of the time of writing, a console version has not been confirmed.

For fans of the Horizon series, this is a significant expansion: the game universe is no longer confined to a single-player narrative but extends to a shared online world.

The collaboration between Guerrilla Games (the original developer of the Horizon series) and NCSOFT (with extensive experience in MMORPG development) heralds a fusion of "hunting action" and "online RPG social/raid mechanics." The highly customizable and free-form player character system suggests a potentially diverse gameplay experience: you're no longer just a lone hunter, but a member of a tribe, interacting, competing, or cooperating with other players.

From a market perspective, cross-platform cooperation between mobile and PC indicates NCSOFT's goal is to transcend console players and reach a broader global market.
