Tech media outlet GSMArena published an article today (November 22) reporting that the Samsung Galaxy A57 has appeared in the Geekbench benchmark database, powered by the Exynos 1680 chipset, equipped with 12GB of RAM, and running Android 16.
According to the Geekbench listing (version 6.5.0), the device achieved a single-core score of 1311 and a multi-core score of 4347. However, the outlet cautions that the new Exynos 1680 chip is clearly still in the testing phase, so these early results should not be taken too seriously.
Samsung released the Exynos 1580 in November 2024. It uses a tri-cluster architecture consisting of:
- 1 × Cortex-A720 @ 2.9 GHz (high-performance core)
- 3 × Cortex-А720 @ 2.6 GHz (mid cores)
- 4 × Cortex-А520 @ 1.95 GHz (efficiency cores)
It is manufactured on Samsung’s third-generation 4nm FinFET process and features the third-generation custom Xclipse 540 GPU.
Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 1680 maintains the same 1+3+4 cluster layout but swaps one efficiency core for an additional performance core while keeping clock speeds essentially unchanged:
- 1 × 2.91 GHz high-performance core
- 4 × 2.6 GHz performance cores
- 3 × 1.95 GHz efficiency cores
On the graphics side, it is equipped with the newer Xclipse 550 GPU clocked at 1306 MHz.
modezone.com previously reported in August of this year that the Exynos 1680 (internal GPU code S5E8865) scored around 6,330 in OpenCL benchmarks, while the Exynos 1580 (GPU code S5E8855) typically scored between 6,700 and 6,900.
