Tech news source @yabhishekhd reported today (November 22) that Samsung is likely to revive the Galaxy A7x series, with the rumoured Galaxy A77 appearing on the Geekbench benchmark platform.
According to modezone.com, citing the post, Samsung discontinued the Galaxy A7x series in 2022 after the Galaxy A73, with the Galaxy A5x series subsequently serving as the flagship lineup of the A-series.
However, a new device with the model number SM-A776B appeared on Geekbench yesterday (November 21), sparking speculation that Samsung may be preparing to launch the Galaxy A77 and resurrect this mid-to-high-end product line.
Benchmark details reveal that the Galaxy A77 is powered by an unreleased 10-core Exynos processor with a tri-cluster architecture clocked at:
- 2.78 GHz
- 2.30 GHz
- 1.82 GHz
It features the Xclipse 940 GPU — the same graphics unit used in Samsung’s flagship-grade Exynos 2400 and Exynos 2400e — suggesting graphics performance comparable to that of current flagship devices.
The tested unit comes with 8 GB of RAM and runs Android 16. In Geekbench testing, it achieved:
- Single-core score: 1673
- Multi-core score: 5697
