The 39.1 version update for PUBG is coming soon, bringing a series of winter-themed content and gameplay adjustments. The focus of this update is the return of the classic map Erangel, now transformed with a snowy environment, along with the addition of a new tactical item, the Blue Zone Grenade Launcher. Additionally, the highly praised UGC Alpha Mode will also be making a comeback.

In “Erangel: Frozen Wasteland”, the map has undergone drastic environmental changes due to a satellite crash, which is part of the in-game storyline. The Stellbe Observatory in the northern region and the Military Base Island at the southern tip are now entirely covered in snow. Some bridges are broken, rivers are frozen, and satellite debris is scattered across the plains, adding new exploration elements and tactical variables to the battlefield. Players can also find rare items at specific drop points, offering a unique collection experience.

Key Features of the Update:

• Frozen Effects: Players outside the safe zone will not only suffer from Blue Zone damage but will also experience frozen effects, including reduced visibility, mirrored ice effects, and auditory changes, making combat outside the safe zone even more challenging.
• Blue Zone Grenade Launcher: This new secondary weapon fires Blue Zone grenades that stick to surfaces and detonate after a delay. While its single-shot damage isn’t as substantial as traditional Blue Zone grenades, it is expected to play a unique tactical role, especially when attacking buildings or advancing through complex terrain.

As the season changes, the Red Zone will temporarily disappear, and the ferry to Military Base Island will be out of service. Players can obtain white ghillie suits from secret rooms and airdrop supplies. The dynamic weather system will also cause the snow to deepen over time, impacting the overall strategic pace of the game.

Weapon Balance Changes:

• The popular VSS will see a slight increase in recoil and fire volume.
• The SLR and SKS will have reduced recoil, improving their handling.
• Among the 5.56mm firearms, the AUG will be nerfed, while the M416 will receive a boost.

UGC Alpha Mode Returns:

• The UGC Alpha Mode, which was a hit during the mid-season, will return. This mode will remain available through custom matches and will include new editing tools and items. The addition of AI players and navigation devices further expands the freedom for map creators. The official team has also introduced a Defence Mode as a sample gameplay to encourage more diverse user-generated map creations.

Collaborations and AI Improvements:

• The collaboration with Porsche will soon come to an end, and a new partnership with the luxury brand Valentino will be launched, featuring exclusive themed areas and supply boxes on the Erangel map.
