NVIDIA open-sourced its autonomous driving training acceleration toolkit ACCV-Lab (Accelerated Computer Vision Lab) last week.

ACCV-Lab is a systematic toolkit whose sub-modules target specific areas and provide corresponding tools and best practices. It is designed to enable end-to-end training in the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) domain and support development and research in the field.

NVIDIA stated that ACCV-Lab will continue to expand with additional features and examples in the future to demonstrate real-world application performance and gains.

As a global technology leader, NVIDIA’s computing systems and software have been adopted by major automakers, including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo, to power next-generation autonomous driving technology. In recent years, NVIDIA has invested heavily in the automotive sector to capitalize on the growing demand for its chips, driven by advancements in autonomous driving.

Earlier this year, Ali Kani, Vice President of NVIDIA’s Automotive division, told British automotive media outlet Autocar that fully autonomous vehicles remain far off and are unlikely to be fully deployed on public roads before the end of this decade (i.e., before 2030).
