Tech media outlet NeoWin reported today (Nov 21) that NVIDIA’s cloud‑gaming platform GeForce NOW has completed the server hardware upgrade.

According to the article, the upgrade plan began in September and centred on fully deploying SuperPOD servers built on the Blackwell architecture, bringing RTX 5080‑class performance to the cloud. The rollout is now complete across all supported regions, marking a new performance standard for GeForce NOW.

This upgrade is primarily designed for GeForce NOW’s “Ultimate” membership tier. NVIDIA says these new servers bring substantial benefits for supported games, including up to 5K resolution at 120 FPS or 1080p resolution at up to 360 FPS under competitive gaming conditions.

In addition, the upgrade introduces support for DLSS 4 multi-frame generation and ultra-low latency streaming, which significantly enhance cloud gaming responsiveness and visual fidelity.

Alongside the major core upgrade, NVIDIA also unveiled a new service package aimed at Chromebook users: “GeForce NOW Chromebook Fast Pass”, a 12‑month subscription that offers ad‑free 1080p @ 60 FPS cloud streaming, designed to let lightweight Chromebook devices serve as high‑performance gaming machines.

The game library on GeForce NOW also expanded this week with nine new titles joining the supported list, including SpongeBob: Tides of Titan and The Crew: MotorFest (originally on Xbox Game Pass). One highlight: Star Wars: Outlaws (by Ubisoft) not only joined the platform but also became one of the first games to support the new RTX 5080-class server performance.

NVIDIA emphasises that GeForce NOW differs from subscription services like Game Pass: users must own the game (via Steam or PC Game Pass, etc.) to stream it through GeForce NOW’s servers. Also, usage limits apply per tier membership.
