According to a report from tech media outlet NoteBook Check, Motorola just launched the Edge 70 smartphone last week (the Chinese version is Lenovo Moto X70 Air), and now there are signs indicating that the company plans to release a more premium model.

A new device with the model number “Motorola XT2603-1” has appeared on Geekbench, achieving a single-core score of 2636 and a multi-core score of 7475, with 16GB of RAM. According to NoteBook Check, this device is the Edge 70 Ultra.

The benchmark scores are slightly higher than those of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 but lower than the Snapdragon 8 Supreme edition's performance. As a result, it is speculated that the phone may be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. However, the Geekbench data page shows a different clock speed and GPU model (Adreno 829) compared to the previously leaked details about the 8 Gen 5.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor is built using TSMC’s N3p process, features the Oryon CPU architecture, and is equipped with the Adreno 840 GPU. Geekbench 6 results for the 8 Gen 5 show a single-core score of around 3000± and a multi-core score of around 10000±.

Thus, there are two possible scenarios: First, the leaked information about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 may be inaccurate; second, the Edge 70 Ultra may feature a brand-new Snapdragon 8 series chip, possibly a derivative model like the "Snapdragon 8s Gen 5."
