Star Valley “Inhabitable Test” Shuts Down — Data to Be Wiped

According to the official announcement, the “inhabitable test” of Star Valley ended at 10:00 this morning (local time).
Because this was a data‑wipe (delete‑save) type test, all game data generated during the test will be cleared after shutdown.

💾 Option to Preserve “Memory” — but Limited

Before shutdown, players had the option to fill out “Inhabitable Test Experience Questionnaire 5” and authorize retention of a special memory tied to a character named “Nalo.” If they did so, their account info and interactions in “Wild Café – Private Room” could be preserved. This memory is meant to carry over — in a sense, letting “Nalo” remember the player in future updates.
If players did not authorize or missed the deadline, their data will be deleted as part of the regular wipe.

🌌 What Star Valley Is (or Was) About

Star Valley is a life‑simulation game (from miHoYo / HoYoverse), with a space‑pastoral, star‑settlement theme — players can engage in seaside gathering, fishing, farming, decorating land/sky/coastlines, and more.
The game emphasizes freedom and community: players may gather with friends in a “starlight market,” share creations, build homes and landscapes, and enjoy a peaceful, social “ideal life under the stars.”
So far, four characters — described as fluffy, anthropomorphic neighbors (with different personalities) — have been revealed. Players can befriend them, forming social bonds and exploring the wide star‑sea world together.

✨ What This Means & What’s Next

  • The test shutdown is normal for a closed, data‑wipe test: everything resets. However, through the “memory preservation” option, players who opt in may retain some continuity for character relationships (with Nalo) when the game returns.
  • For many players, this marks an end to their first hands‑on experience with Star Valley — along with the in‑game creations, stories, and memories.
  • On the other hand, the data collected during this test (player feedback, bug reports, suggestions, usage data) will likely help HoYoverse refine and polish the game for its next phase. As the publisher put it, this is like a seed planted — with hope for more stable, richer experiences in the final version.
