Honhai (Foxconn) has achieved mass production at its Kaohsiung Advanced Battery Center this year. At last week's HHTC 2025 Technology Day, the electronics giant showcased its extensive portfolio of battery products.
Among the mass-produced products from the Kaohsiung Advanced Battery Center on display were:
* A 210Ah LFP cell with a cycle life of 3,500 cycles
* A 345Ah cell designed for energy storage systems with an ultra-long cycle life of 10,000 cycles
Foxconn also unveiled its first-generation sodium-ion battery at the event. Using an environmentally friendly process, it delivers approximately 4,000 cycles even under 100% daily depth-of-discharge, and retains about 85% capacity at -40°C extreme low temperatures.
In the Smart EV zone, Foxconn presented its lithium-metal anode battery, achieving an energy density exceeding 420 Wh/kg — significantly higher than the ~300 Wh/kg of current commercial vehicle batteries.Foxconn further demonstrated its semi-solid-state battery technology:
* The automotive version offers a cycle life of 3,000 cycles and exhibits no thermal runaway even after enduring over 30% deformation.
* The drone-specific version achieves an energy density of over 320 Wh/kg, has passed validation across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and supports a 15 °C pulse discharge for up to 10 seconds.
Additionally, Foxconn showcased its super-fast charging solution, which, through high-rate anode materials and low-viscosity electrolyte formulation, enables a 70% charge in 5 minutes. An even more advanced 3-minute fast-charging technology is currently under development.
