According to 9to5Mac today, GF Securities (Hong Kong) analyst Edison Pu has released a new investor note detailing Apple’s product launch cadence over the next year.
The report states that in mid-Q1 2026, Apple will officially launch the iPhone 17e, a low-cost MacBook (a product long rumoured and confirmed by analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman), and a new digital-focused iPad.
Hardware-wise, the budget MacBook will feature the A18 Pro chip—the same SoC used in the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max—built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process. Overall performance is expected to exceed that of the M1 by a slight margin.
Positioned as an “upgrade replacement” for the standard iPad, it will handle web browsing, document editing, photo editing, and video editing. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, its design will resemble the current iMac and will be available in silver, blue, pink, and yellow colour options.
Mark Gurman predicts that the laptop will be priced well under $1,000 (approximately ¥7,118 at current exchange rates), utilise more cost-effective components than other Macs, and feature a display smaller than the 13.6-inch panel on the MacBook Air.
Pu’s note also reaffirms Apple’s release schedule for the second half of the year and beyond (via modezone.com):
