Windwheel Aster only grows in the region of Mondstadt (not elsewhere).

The central spawn locations are around the “Statues of The Seven” in Mondstadt: e.g., near Windrise, near Dawn Winery, around Stormterror's Lair (in the Brightcrown Mountains / Wind Dragon Ruins area), and a few spots like Starfell Lake / Starfell Valley.

In other words, you don’t only get Windwheel Aster at “Wind Dragon Ruins” — it’s spread across many Mondstadt sub-regions.

Other ways to get Windwheel Aster

You can buy a small number from the NPC shop — specifically from an NPC named Flora in Mondstadt (she sells 5 Windwheel Asters every few days).

You can also grow Windwheel Aster yourself using the in-game gardening/housing system (i.e., planting seeds in your “teapot/serenitea” garden if you have the seed item).

⚠️ What’s wrong with the “only at Wind Dragon Ruins under a big tree” assumption

While Windwheel Aster does appear in areas near Stormterror’s Lair / Wind-Dragon-Ruins region in many players’ farming routes, it is not exclusive to that area.

It grows in multiple Mondstadt regions around “Statues of The Seven,” and you can find them under trees, near lakes, meadows, or grasslands — not always “under a big tree at Wind Dragon Ruins.”
