Garrison Mission — Mysterious Colossus (near Huangfen Village)

There’s a mysterious giant statue near Huangfen Village.

Please take a look at the kneeling stone figures, then kneel on the empty cushion to reproduce their position. If you stay kneeling a little longer, you’ll see the shadow of a deer.

Follow the deer’s footprints.

When you approach, the two villagers who are worshipping will stop. Use the Mystic Art “Golden Jade Hand” (金玉手) to strike their pressure points and freeze them in place.

Then kneel and worship at the central statue. When all three lamps light up simultaneously, the door will open.

Along the way, you’ll see lots of fireflies—collect as many as you can to obtain the Mystic Art “Firefly Glow Through the Night” (萤光晖夜).

The path to the stone coffin is blocked. You need to find three deer shadows nearby. During the puzzle, you’ll see the phantoms of a man and a woman—pay attention to what they say.

• Deer shadow #1: right by the water.
• Deer shadow #2: behind vines. Crouch and enter through a small hole nearby. It’s recommended to collect fireflies first to get 萤光晖夜 for lighting, then go in. After finding the deer shadow, you can climb out to higher ground without backtracking.
• Deer shadow #3: separated by water in the distance. Shoot a rocket to burn the vines on the far side, revealing the third lamp. A series of drums will rise on the water. Approach the blue light near the starting point to jump to the end automatically—don’t try to hop across the drums yourself.

After interacting with all three deer shadows, go up to the high ground and open the stone coffin.

Defeat the enemies inside, then examine the door mechanism—you’ll find you’re missing a key. Go up the stairs to retrieve it.

Near a phantom, pick up a deer head. Continue upward and retrieve the key from a small box.

A cutscene reveals the phantom is Li Zuo (李祚), the last emperor of the Tang dynasty—Emperor Ai of Tang, Li Zhu (唐哀帝李柷). Reading Sun Buqi’s notes shows the female phantom is Liu Qingyi (柳青衣), who drank Zhu Wen’s poisoned wine in Li Zuo’s place to save him.

You can use the key to open the door.

Shoot a rocket to burn the vines on the wooden pole; the pole will fall and form a bridge. Walk along it—on the way, you’ll find two more deer heads, yielding two deer antlers.

After obtaining the second antler, jump down to the right to return to the main path.

Place the deer head and two antlers on the wall, and the door will open.

Defeat the Formless Empress (无相皇后) and continue forward to learn more about Liu Qingyi and Li Zuo’s story. You can already sense that Li Zuo—corrupted after Liu Qingyi’s death—may become a central late-game boss.

Finally, could you light the riverbank lantern to activate the bridge and leave?
