The next day, when you meet to discuss the case, you can choose to sell goods at either Changping Granary (常平仓) or Qionglin Garden (琼林苑). While you’re at it, you can also visit Qionglin Garden and talk to the Wandering Wayfarer (天涯客) to unlock the map.

After you finish selling, return to Yingying to trigger the next cutscene. Official Shi’s behaviour will thoroughly anger Brother Zhao—and the consequences are going to be serious. You’ll also learn that Yingying’s identity is far from simple.

Then you’ll need to wait four days before the main story can continue, so it’s a good time to work on side quests.

Go to Taiyi Palace (太一宫) and find the Taoist Baiji (白及) you met before entering the city. This unlocks Kaifeng’s “Oddities” exchange system.

Prioritise completing all the guide/errand quests marked with a book icon on the map (including in Qinghe). These typically unlock a set of basic features as you progress.

Head to the entertainment district (勾栏瓦肆) in the southeast of Kaifeng. Earlier in the main quest, when you met Zhao Pu (赵普), he invited you to watch the play “A Thousand Miles Escorting Jingniang” (《千里送京娘》/《千里送京娘》故事改编剧目)—a classic story associated with Zhao Kuangyin.

The play is adapted from the legendary tale of Zhao Kuangyin in his youth, and Zhao Pu even invites Zhao Kuangyin himself to watch it, which makes the whole thing pretty hilarious. After the show, “Old Zhao” will even quip: “Adaptation isn’t random fabrication; dramatisation isn’t nonsense.”
