Chapter 1 – Old Bamboo Grove Residence
After completing the prologue tutorial, please activate the boundary marker (stele) located outside the house. Boundary markers function as fast-travel points. Once you’re out of combat, approaching an activated marker will restore your status. Whenever you spot one while exploring, activate it first for convenience.
Could you investigate the dragon-pattern seal at the entrance to obtain your second weapon: the Spear?
Go inside: there’s a treasure chest. Inspect the table to find a letter, and then examine the nearby memorial tablet.
After speaking with Hong Xian, follow the path forward.
At the broken bridge, you’ll learn Jump + Mid-air Dash + Plunge.
This game’s jump supports a triple jump (three consecutive jumps). You can even jump onto certain tall buildings.
Continue onward and defeat the poison butterflies in the air to dispel the poison miasma, then pick up the Phantasmal Song “White-Eyed Lotus” (幻歌白目莲) by the roadside.
Further ahead, you’ll meet someone shooting birds and learn the Mystic Art (奇术): “Still Abyss, Stilled Waters” (停渊止水). When you’re aiming with the bow, using this ability can freeze time.
Compete in the bird-shooting contest with Feng Jisheng. You must win to continue the main story.
Reach the campfire icon on the map and talk to the Wandering Wayfarer (天涯客) to unlock the Baicao Wilds (百草野) map and the Wulin Record (武林录). If you give him money, you can earn an achievement—but you can also choose not to pay if you want to save.
Observe the giant bear to learn the Mystic Art: Taiji (太极), then use Taiji to defeat the bear.
Baicao Wilds is one of the three regions in Qinghe, comprising four sub-areas. Coming from Old Bamboo Grove Residence, you’re now heading toward the General’s Shrine (将军祠).
The book icon on the map indicates Fragment side quests, corresponding to the “Heroic Deeds (侠迹)” section in the Wulin Record. There are three of these in Baicao Wilds.
Near the bear, you’ll encounter someone calling for help—Qi Sheng (齐声). Talk to him to obtain rockets.
Use the rockets to shoot the beehive that the bear was trying to dig out earlier.
Then climb the tree to collect the honeycomb.
Give the honeycomb to Qi Sheng to learn a martial art. It’s recommended to choose the first option, Mingchuan Medical Codex (明川药典), a healing skill.
Later, if you hand Qi Sheng more odd materials, you can also gain additional “Five Tones Bring Peace” (五音启太平)upgrade points.
