According to a post shared on Reddit, well-known industry insider Shinobi602 has seemingly hinted on the ResetEra forums that a new entry in the Control series may be revealed at this year’s The Game Awards (TGA).

The discussion began when a ResetEra user shared their predictions, stating that it’s still too early to discuss Control 2. In their view, Remedy is currently focused on remaking the first two Max Payne games. If anything related to Control shows up, it would more likely be the previously announced TV series rather than a game sequel.

In response, Shinobi602 replied: “You sure about that?”

Many players quickly interpreted this brief comment as a tease that Control 2 might make an official appearance at TGA.

It’s also worth noting that not long ago, players discovered what appears to be a trademark filing related to Control 2. The sequel has reportedly already moved into full production, and a recent mysterious ARG project is also suspected to be connected to it. Taken together, these signs do make a TGA reveal for Control 2 seem pretty plausible.

However, since nothing has been officially confirmed, fans are advised to keep expectations in check and treat the speculation with a healthy dose of scepticism.
