Tech media Android Authority reported yesterday that Google has begun rolling out a new feature called “Notification Organizer” to its Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 series phones running Android 16 QPR2. This feature utilizes on-device AI models to help address the problem of notification overload by automatically organizing and decluttering notifications.

- Supported Devices: Pixel 9 series and Pixel 10 series (excluding the Pixel 9a).
- System Requirements: Must be running Android 16 QPR2 with the primary system language set to English.
- Eligible Regions: Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States
🤖 How It Works
Unlike traditional notification settings that simply group all alerts from a given app, Notification Organizer uses on-device AI to analyze the content of each notification rather than just the app it came from
This means that even notifications from the same app can be categorized differently based on the message content—for example, separating news alerts from promotional messages.
Notifications processed by the feature are grouped and silenced in the “Silent” section of the notification shade, reducing unnecessary interruptions.
⚙️ How to Enable It
Once your Pixel meets the criteria and the feature has been rolled out, restart your phone. Then, go to Settings > Notifications > Notification Organizer to enable it.
By default, the system will activate two categories:
- News
- Promotions
. For example, notifications from Google News may be directed to the “News” group, while YouTube Music marketing messages may appear under “Promotions.”
