As previously reported, Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red released a so-called “Presidential Statement,” signed by New United States President Rosalind Myers. The message called on citizens to join a cybersecurity defense initiative, recruiting “brave netrunners” to fight against “lurking threats in the shadows.” Some players speculated that this “Presidential Statement” might be related to new content for the game.

On September 3, CD Projekt Red officially issued a statement clarifying the “mysterious announcement”:
“It should be noted that this is not the release or teaser of new game content, but rather part of this month’s Phantom Liberty anniversary celebration.”
