AI Researcher from DeepSeek Issues Warning at Wuzhen: “AI Could Eliminate Jobs in Next 5-10 Years”
According to a report by Reuters, during today’s 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit main forum — the “Six Little Dragons Wuzhen Dialogue” session — senior researcher Chen Deli of DeepSeek openly admitted that he holds a pessimistic view of the long-term impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on humanity.

While discussing DeepSeek’s global success and its open-source strategy for advancing AI, Chen said that in the short term, AI can become a powerful assistant for humans. However, he warned that within the next 5 to 10 years, the technology could lead to the disappearance of some jobs.

Chen emphasized that AI companies must face these potential risks head-on. He stated:

“In the next 10 to 20 years, AI could take over the remaining work humans perform, and society will face huge challenges. At that time, tech companies need to play the role of ‘defender’. I’m extremely positive about the technology, but cautious about its potential societal impacts.”
