The root cause has been identified as a DynamoDB service error, which has further impacted other services within the same region. The impact continues to expand, as core infrastructure services such as IAM are also affected. Notably, US-EAST-1 (Northern Virginia) is AWS’s largest and most critical region, being its first and default one. The number of impacted services has grown from 17 at the start of the incident to 37 at the time of writing.
