On November 12, according to Android Authority, Citron, a fork of the classic Nintendo Switch emulator Yuzu, has announced the release of version v0.11.0, with a key new feature being support for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Edition GPU.

The changelog specifically notes optimizations for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Edition’s integrated GPU, improvements to Adreno GPU shader execution and compilation, and an “optimized rendering pipeline” designed for high-end Android devices.

The report mentions that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Edition initially had compatibility issues with some cutting-edge emulators, likely due to the lack of open-source Turnip drivers and its new “tiled” GPU architecture.

Citron also brings good news for users of Arm-based Windows devices — the emulator now offers native support for Windows on Arm, meaning users can expect better performance on Snapdragon X laptops and desktops.
