AMD recently released its Q3 2025 financial results. Client business revenue reached a record high of $2.8 billion. This growth was primarily driven by the strong performance of Ryzen desktop processors, especially the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, hailed as the "world's best gaming CPU," which contributed to a 46% year-over-year increase in client business revenue.
Gaming revenue also hit a record high, reaching approximately $1.3 billion, a 181% year-over-year increase. This was mainly due to strong market demand for Radeon GPUs (such as the Radeon RX 9070 XT) and increased sales of semi-custom products.
AMD's total revenue for the quarter reached $9.2 billion (a 36% year-over-year increase and a 20% quarter-over-quarter increase), with net income of $1.243 billion, a 61% year-over-year increase and a 43% quarter-over-quarter increase. Data center revenue was approximately $4.3 billion, a 22% year-over-year increase; client and gaming revenue totaled approximately $4 billion, a 73% year-over-year increase. AMD Chairman and CEO Lisa Su commented, "We had an outstanding quarter, with record revenue and profitability, reflecting strong market demand for our high-performance EPYC and Ryzen processors, as well as the Instinct AI accelerator."
Notably, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D topped Amazon's best-selling CPU list, while AMD's previous generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D came in second. In fact, AMD occupied 11 of the top 11 spots on Amazon's CPU rankings—the best-selling Intel model (Core i7-14700K) only ranked 12th.
