âś… What to do early (and what to prioritize)

  1. Prioritize the main story (Archon / Story Quests) and beginner guidance.
    • Focus first on completing all main-story quests and tutorial/new-player quests. Following the main story unlocks many game features.
    • While following the story, grab anything you see — chests, loot, resources. Many things turn out helpful later.
  2. Using the starting characters: default rosters → but pick who works best for you.
    • At the start, you get the main character (Traveler) plus three free characters. Good early-game practice is to use the ones that fit well with your playstyle.
    • Don’t feel pressured to “raise every character.” Instead, pick a few to focus on to conserve resources (such as Mora, upgrading materials, and talent books). This approach is widely recommended for new players.
  3. After the main line and tutorial, explore the map — unlock teleporters/waypoints.
    • Unlocking teleport waypoints and “Statue of the Seven” statues early helps a lot: makes travel easier, reduces running/climbing time, and gives passive benefits such as stamina expansion when you offer collected orbs.
    • Explore chests and scattered resources as you go — even if you’re focused on the story, don’t skip “everywhere you roam.”
  4. Once you unlock it, do Daily Commissions and spend Resin on domains/bosses / leveled content.
    • Daily Commissions give stable rewards and Adventure EXP. After Adventure Rank increases, domains (Ley Lines, bosses, dungeons) become viable for resource gain.
    • Use activities that consume Resin efficiently (Bosses, Ley Lines, domain runs) to get materials for character/weapon upgrades.
  5. Grab “Oculi” (e.g., Anemoculus, Geoculus) and upgrade Statues of the Seven.
    • Collecting these orbs and offering them to the statues will increase your stamina (so you can climb, swim, glide longer) — very helpful for exploration and future mobility.
    • More stamina means easier world traversal, more efficient exploration, and quicker escapes.
  6. Be resource-conscious (Mora, materials, resin, artifacts). Build up smartly.
    • Early on, don’t dive hard into raising every character or chasing high-end artifacts. Focus on a small team and prioritize leveling and talents.
    • Save Mora (in-game currency) for essential upgrades (character and weapon ascension/talent upgrades) rather than wasting it on minor gains early.
  7. Learn elemental reactions and combat basics early — they matter a lot.
    • Understanding how elements combine (e.g., fire + ice to melt, water + electro to trigger Electro-Charged/Overload) is key to efficient combat, especially against foes who use shields or elemental resistances.
    • This lets you get more mileage out of “low-investment” characters early rather than needing top-tier gear or high rarity.

🧭 Typical Early-Game Progression Flow (Recommended “Loop”)

  • Main story → open chests / explore world → unlock teleporters & statues → collect oculi (stamina boosters)
  • When available: start Daily Commissions → spend Resin on domains/bosses → accumulate materials and character XP
  • Focus on building a small core team, upgrading only that team, and avoiding over-spreading resources
  • Use world resources and exploration to collect materials (ores, local specialties, etc.) to prepare for mid/late-game upgrades

This path helps unlock most features and steadily builds up characters and resources — without burning out or overspending too soon. Many public beginner guides recommend this as a balanced early-game plan.
